West
Yellowstone, Montana, is a rustic mountain town nestled between National
Forest lands and Yellowstone National Park. West Yellowstone is located
in Southwestern Montana just 1.5 miles from Wyoming and eight miles from
Idaho. We share a common border with Yellowstone National Park and are
the Park's only West gateway. West Yellowstone considers itself to be
the "Hub of Yellowstone Country" because of our excellent location to
all the wonders of Yellowstone National Park and surrounding areas.
Mountain
weather can be very unpredictable, so the trick is -- always being
prepared. Dress in layers so that you can add or subtract for comfort.
In winter, just use heavier layers. West Yellowstone tends to be a very
sunny place. In any season, sunscreen is almost always appropriate.
Springtime is more wet and cloudy; summer brings hot days and cool
nights; fall is crisp and bright; while in winter our coldest nights are
generally followed by our most brilliant days.
